STICK with Your Kids!
“STICK WITH YOUR KIDS!” is an annual event including a Back-To-School parade in downtown Decatur, IL, and a community-wide Civic Center showcase and service fair. Schools, businesses and local agencies participate to show parents and families the many ways they can “stick” with their kids to support school success.

The 11th annual STICK was held on August 28, 2010 with a record-breaking back to school parade of 2,000, a Civic Center crowd of 4,500 children and adults, and 60 schools and community agencies… all to promote family involvement and school success!
Family Liaisons receive salary support in all 16 public elementary schools from Project Success in cooperation with Decatur Public Schools. They work to increase the link between the schools, the ome, and community resources to support families and academic success.
60+ family activities in all 16 elementary schools will be supported with $8,000 in STICK WITH YOUR KIDS! parent involvement funding from Project Success during the first semester.
Project Success provides funding for schools to implement STICK WITH YOUR KIDS! Family Activities. Proposals are accepted each year in September and January. These funds are used by schools to support year-long family activities that encourage parent involvement. Events such as Family Reading Nights, Grandparents Days, Service Fairs, ISAT Information Nights, Family Game Nights, and Family Math and Science Nights give families many opportunities to interact socially. When parents and families feel comfortable at school, their children benefit and we increase chances for their academic success.
During the 2009 – 2010 school year, 127 Family Activities in our public schools were supported by Project Success and were attended by 16,931 people!
