After School Tutoring

“The Project Success tutoring program is invaluable for many of our students. It affords them the opportunity for more teacher facilitated time on task they would otherwise not have. Project Success offers after school tutoring to all Decatur public elementary schools. Certified teachers and teaching assistants provide tutoring in core subject areas from October to May. Students must be referred for specific academic assistance at tutoring sessions by their classroom teachers. This service is free to all students!

During the 2009-2010 school year, 469 students at 11 K-8 schools and the Boys and Girls Club received free tutoring.  62% of those students improved their grades in at least one core subject.
